The visitor who are visiting Sikkim should keep in mind that they are not visiting a museum but a religious place. The mural, paintings and other religious objects and decorative parts should not be touched. One should photograph only if this is allowed as per the guidelines (like avoid flashlights).
For Indian Nationals – No inner line permits or such formalities are needed to enter Sikkim but one should always carry with him/her any Indian identification documents, like either Voter ID card, Driving License and Passport. These identification documents are important for getting passes and permits.
Adventure activities in Sikkim to be enjoyed, are many. You can hike up to the lush mountain trails, feel the high adrenaline rush while fighting fierce river rapid, or can enjoy mountain biking on the paths created by former adventure junkies. Sikkim owns some of the best trekking trails in the country, offering stunning natural vistas and exotic wildlife spotting. Along with trekking, Kayaking, Canoeing, Mountain biking, Paragliding, Hang gliding, River rafting and Mountaineering are some of the popular adventure activities in Sikkim.
In summers Sikkim stays pleasant and lovely. The temperature stays between 5 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius. Nights of the summers can be chilling, so it is advised to pack in some woolen clothes as well. This is the best time to visit Sikkim’s Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang Valley, Nathula Pass, Rumtek Monastery, Khangchendzonga National Park and others are the places to definitely visit.
There might be some update regarding online permit in future but currently permits are not issued online. It can be issued when you reach Gangtok.
There are many religious places in Sikkim which are sacred sites for people from all faiths and religions. Some of the most famous religious places in Sikkim include Ganesh Tok, Siddheshwara Dham and numerous places of worship across faiths throughout the state.
The period from December – January, March – June, September – October is the best time to visit since the climate is usually pleasant, ideal to explore & enjoy.

E-pass is required -Health Screening -It is mandatory to each passengers arriving into Sikkim from other states/UT to carry a negative RT-PCR which will have to be issued from up to a maximum of 72 Hours before the time of arrival into Sikkim.

We strongly recommend bringing a backpack or duffel bag, as suitcases can be cumbersome and difficult to store in buses, under seats, etc.. Keep in mind that you will normally have to carry your own luggage on and off buses and trains and up and down hotel staircases. Suitcases with wheels may not work well on dirt or cobblestone roads.

Trip specific information on transportation can be found on the trip summary page however in most cases we use public transportation. We’ve found that how you get there significantly influences the tone of your journey and public transportation allows face-to-face interaction with the local people. Some of our adventures, including our “Superior”, “Comfort Class” and most adventures in Africa, use private transportation.

Yes, in most cases we can arrange additional accommodation at our starting or ending hotels, excluding European tours. If we are unable to provide you with the extra nights we will give you the name of a hotel you can contact directly. Please also note that extra accommodations must be booked outside of 30 days of departure.
